The Trend, in common with other KineticaRT components, is easy to configure and supports live update. You can embed it straight into your application and the flexible look-and-feel makes it ideal for virtual control panels.

 OVERVIEW

The KineticaRT Trend is a real-time multi-threaded control that can be embedded straight into your application or onto a KineticaRT Frame component to allow run-time configuration.

As with other KineticaRT controls width and height are configurable, as well as the colors of the separate parts of the control.

Each of the multiple traces can have a unique Source connection, be individually scaled and have a moveable cursor linked to it. The speed of the scrolling can be configured along with a freeze capability.

The trend can be set to automatically adjust the scaling to match the channel it is connected to and the position of the base line is configurable. Horizontal and vertical grid lines can be specified.

 APPLICATION STORY



This picture shows part of the main operations virtual control panel of the Lola Wind Tunnel control system containing two trend components amongst other KineticaRT components.

The trends plot the tared force values of the 50% scale model being tested and display them over a 30 second scroll time. After the sampling period the average value of each of these forces is calculated and then transformed into full-size figures and stored in the database.

The current values are always on the right-hand edge of the display and the historical trace allows the operator to monitor the development of the forces and to preempt any possible adverse effects.
