The functionality of the system is defined by a number of setup files. Files are in an open XML format and a number of specific editors are provided, making test setup straightforward. Files reside either in a single System folder (for global functionality) or in Run folders (encapsulating all Setup and Results files for each individual test run). If desired, a customer can set up an alternative hierarchy that matches their own method of working. The standard folder structure is broken down hierarchically by chassis type/test session/test run. The system makes extensive use of Windows XP Explorer facilities, and hence will be intuitive to use by anyone familiar with the Windows environment. Key standard features are: | User controlled automatic generation of next run based on any previous run | | Folders for commonly used library files and template files | | Shortcuts to current run folder, library folder, results files, etc. | | Automatic checking of setup validity (ride height safeties, duplicate/missing files and channels) | |
Most of the standard features listed above are fully configurable. |
