| The user interface comprises a number of KineticaRT display pages running in a Windows NT or XP operating system environment. The system supports multiple display monitors to provide an easy to use but flexible control and monitoring interface for tunnel operators and aerodynamicists. The minimum number of monitors recommended is two. The main screen, on which the operator's attention is normally focused, typically shows the following: | Live displays of the most significant wind tunnel parameters (wind and road speed, balance readings, etc.) | | Alarm and warning message list | | Test run status and control (start, pause, skip step, etc.) | | Color coded display of processed results of each step compared with previous run and a specified reference run | |
A number of uncommitted displays are also provided on the main screen. The operator can connect these to live data channels by drag and drop or picking from a channel list - and can do so whilst the system is running a test. The second monitor is normally split vertically into two sets of tabbed pages for the following functions: | Manual control and diagnostic monitoring of wind tunnel sub-systems (rolling road, fan, model motion, etc.) | | Live pressure monitoring on 64 channel bargraph displays - eases pressure system problem diagnosis (pipe connection order, blocked ports, etc.) | | Multi-channel time graph displays with time zoom and pan and drag and drop/channel list connection to data sources
The content of all display pages is fully configurable, allowing evolution of the system to meet new and changing user requirements.
